3-2-21   THOUGHTS

The UNCERTAINTY of this time is concerning.  From morality and integrity failure, to hatred and horrible selfishness, to a world wide pandemic, we live UNSURELY.   But as I look to the history of God’s people, most of the time they lived unsurely.  The ROCK OF ALL SURETY, GOD HIMSELF,  had COVENANTED with them, but their sin was continually a problem. We are uncertain because we seek CERTAINTY from the wrong source!

Ps 19:7    The law of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.    [read through verse 14]
Isa 28:16 Therefore thus says the Lord GOD, "Behold, I am laying in Zion a stone, a tested stone, A costly cornerstone [for] the foundation, firmly placed. He who believes [in it] will not be disturbed.
John 6:69    "We have believed and have come to know that You are the Holy One of God."
2Tim 2:19   Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, "The Lord knows those who are His," and, "Everyone who names the name of the Lord is to abstain from wickedness."
Heb 6:11-20     And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end, 12  so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises. 13  For when God made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by no one greater, He swore by Himself, 14  saying, "I WILL SURELY BLESS YOU AND I WILL SURELY MULTIPLY YOU." 15  And so, having patiently waited, he obtained the promise. 16  For men swear by one greater than themselves, and with them an oath given as confirmation is an end of every dispute. 17  In the same way God, desiring even more to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeableness of His purpose, interposed with an oath, 18  so that by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have taken refuge would have strong encouragement to take hold of the hope set before us. 19  This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, a hope both sure and steadfast and one which enters within the veil, 20  where Jesus has entered as a forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.
2Pet 1:10  Therefore, brethren, be all the more diligent to make certain about His calling and choosing you; for as long as you practice these things, you will never stumble;
2Pet 1:19   So we have the prophetic word made more sure, to which you do well to pay attention as to a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star arises in your hearts.

My Prayer:
Thank you Oh Lord for sureness in an unsure world.  Anchor the hope of our souls in Jesus, the rock of eternity.  Thank you for your word which gives us full assurance. Support our diligence Oh God.             In the name of Jesus                      Amen
